Smoked salt has been a favourite Scandinavian seasoning for centuries, dating back to the time of Vikings who infused sea salt with smoke from native wood fires. The Olsson family has continued this proud Nordic tradition by smoking their Australian sea salt flakes, from South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, over native river red gum (eucalyptus camaldulensis) for 72 hours in the traditional northern European style. The smoking results in a unique salt enhanced with the aromatic and complex characteristics of the Australian red gum wood.
Smoked Salt serving suggestions:
- Add some Olsson’s Red Gum Smoked Sea Salt to soft butter, and serve on BBQ corn on the cob or simply with bread.
- Sprinkle a little Olsson’s Red Gum Smoked Sea Salt onto a fresh tomato salad or over vegetables before grilling.
- Lightly brush roasting vegetables (potatoes, turnips, parsnips, etc.) with olive oil, sprinkle with Olsson’s Red Gum Smoked Sea Salt and roast as normal.
- Sprinkle popcorn with Olsson’s Red Gum Smoked Sea Salt.
- Sprinkle Olsson’s Red Gum Smoked Sea Salt on BBQ steaks after cooking to bring out the smokey flavour.
- Use Olsson’s Red Gum Smoked Sea Salt instead of regular salt when making salted fudge or salted caramel.
About Olsson's
The Olsson Family have been making solar sea salt since the 1948 and is the oldest family owned and operated sea salt maker in Australia.
To make it's sea salt, Olsson's use the method called "solar evaporation". Solar salt is produced by the action of sun and wind on seawater in large ponds. The seawater evaporates in successive ponds until the seawater is fully concentrated and the salt then crystallizes on the floor of the pond. It is then scooped up, washed in seawater, dried and packaged.
That's it.
There are no chemical processes involved in the manufacture of our product, which is why we guarantee it is perfectly natural.
Solar salt plants must be located In area of low rainfall and high evaporation rates and Olsson's have the unique advantage of having as its only ingredient seawater from two of the world's most pristine oceans: The Great Barrier Reef (Port Alma, QLD) and The Great Australian Bight (Whyalla, SA). Pristine Australian water, sun and wind work in harmony to create the gorgeous Australian sea salt taste we all love.
Refund/Exchange Policy
Returns
Our policy lasts 21 days. If 21 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange unless item is defective.
Items must be returned in original condition, unworn, unaltered, unwashed and with their tags attached.
Must not have any dirty marks, make-up or tan marks.
Must not smell of perfume, deodorant, cosmetics or washing powder.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. Email info@inditribecollective.com.au to check you are eligible for a refund or exchange and to obtain the address for returns.
Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be returnes for exchange or refund. SALE PRICED ITEMS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURN, REFUND OR EXCHANGE. SALE PRICED ITEM SALES ARE FINAL
Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at info@inditribecollective.com.au to discuss and obtain address for return.
Shipping
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
